Making the Invisible: Visible
Event Date(s): June 12-19, 2021
Description: Exhibit and workshops hosted by Claymore Vets in partnership with Frontline Arts and Bridgewater Commons.
In celebration of Women Veterans Day on June 12th, Making the Invisible: Visible raises the community’s awareness of local Women Veterans experiences, provides profound insight about their lives and honors their service with an inspiring exhibit featuring ten black and white portraits of Women Veterans created by Women Veteran Artists, creative workshops and a spoken word session. Women Veterans face unique barriers beyond those faced by their male counterparts, including mental health stigma and gender sensitivity issues, making them often “invisible” in their own communities. This program gives them a voice to share their stories.
