Chinese Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival

Description: The Center for Cultural & Creative Exchange (CCCE) presents the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, a traditional Chinese folk celebration of light from September 10 – 18 at Bridgewater Commons featuring a display of 20 illuminated handmade Chinese lanterns up to 10 feet high throughout the first two levels of the center, lantern making workshops at the Community Hub and a special performance in Center Court.

Mid-Autumn Festival Dance Performances – The Center for Cultural & Creative Exchange (CCCE) presents traditional live performances of music and dance as well as a display of traditional Chinese fashion.

Location: Bridgewater Commons, Center Court

Chinese Lantern Exhibit – Displayed on the first two levels of Bridgewater Commons, twenty handmade Chinese lanterns up to 10 feet high in various forms from animals to dragons will illuminate the walkways.

Date/Time: September 10 – September 18, On display during open mall hours.

Chinese Lantern Making Workshop – Located in the Community Hub, The Center for Cultural & Creative Exchange will host a fun lantern making workshop for families. Throughout the ages, the Chinese have used lanterns not only as sources of light or simple paper decoration, but they symbolize vitality, social status and good luck.

Cost: $5 for your lantern kit
Date/Time: September 10, 11, 17 and 18th, 1pm – 4pm

Location: Community HUB at Bridgewater Commons, Main Level next to Verizon Wireless

Established in 2019, CCCE is a non-profit organization founded in New Jersey and its mission of CCCE is twofold: to help preserve Chinese culture and heritage and to promote unity, harmony, and respect for all demographic groups within the community. Through sharing East Asian culture and art, CCCE provides several cultural events annually including The Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, Lunar Chinese New Year and many more.
